I suppose. I’m very sure House was badly injured in the fire (FANFIC FODDER PEOPLE) and even if he made it out he would still need urgent medical attention. It’s very Inception isn’t it? Choose your ending. But I’m glad they left room for theory, it wouldn’t have been interesting if there wasn’t.
It’s amazing how much detail the writers and the crew put into the funeral scene, note the guests (some very familiar faces - hello Nurse Jeffrey, I knew you liked the grump! - slotted in), and the seating arrangements (Wilson, Stacy, Mrs House - FAMILY- on one end, fellows - FRIENDS- in the other).
When House is sitting on the steps (wherever that is) the cane is nowhere in sight, I don’t see a bike or a car either so how the hell did he get there?
And he looks bloody healthy for someone who’s spent the last few hours inhaling smoke in a burning building and getting second degree burns at least, and he fell through a floor and probably injured his bad leg. He also had to run from an explosion without his cane.
I’m guessing he either got outside help after his escape (suspect #1 Nolan) and/or he broke into the hospital while everyone was distracted, switched the records and stole the necessary medical supplies to treat (but where did his treatment take place?).
